Introduction

Created in 1936, Galim Protestant Dispensary was the first Health Facility of the OSEELC.

Geographical situation

The Galim- Health Center is located in the Galim-Tignere Subdivision, 70km in the South of Tignere (Faro and Deo Division) and 220km from Ngaoundere.

History

The Galim-Tignere Health Centre was created by Dr. SKULBERG, who was a Norwegian Missionary in 1936.

It was on October 11,, 1974 that Galim-Tignere received authorization as a Health Center by the Ministry Law N0 91/A/MSAP/DSP/SDPS/BFSP,authorizing that it had 8 Sanitary Facilities, comprising the Galim-Tignere Protestant Health Center.

Evoluation

At the reopening of the Health Center in 2001, the Centre had (5) buildings, each one in very bad condition. Actually, the Galim-Tignere Protestant Hospital has a new big building which was build by an Austrian NGO, lead by Dr. ELISABETH Neier. The construction of this building was started in October 4th 2005 and was inaugurated the 29th of December 2005. That big building has thirteen (13) rooms.
